WELCOME
During the 1996-1997 school year, Flood Middle School was selected by the United States Department of Education as a Nationally Recognized School of Excellence. Flood's staff prides themselves with delivering the very best instructional program possible to our students. Our curriculum is extensive, including effective student assistance programs, the arts, and a variety of enrichment opportunities. Our philosophy at FMS is “We do what's best for kids!” Our community is designed to engage their minds, motivate them to make inquiries, and develop the skills necessary to become life-long learners. We are committed to assisting all students in fulfilling their maximum potential so that they may become successful members of our community. Our journey is one that requires the collaboration of all stakeholders, especially our parents. Open communication and mutual support are key elements in the education of middle school students. Flood Middle School has long maintained an excellent relationship with parents and community members, and we are always seeking to expand and improve this aspect of our school. There are two key groups, which work to provide communication networks for the school, and we encourage all of our parents to become involved actively with one or both of these organizations. Our School Advisory Committee (SAC) and our Parent Teacher Student Organization (PTSO) meet once each quarter. Our web page is intended to provide teachers, parents, and students with information about our school, its instructional program, policies and procedures as well as resources for your reference.
