Yarn Print
The 6th graders made these great yarn prints! They learned about cultures from the South Pacific including Australia, New Zealand and the Solomon Islands. We talked most about the Aboriginies of Australia and their art and beliefs. We focused on their use of line in art. Then in their prints they focused on line as an element of art, meaning they drew with only line and not shapes or shading. They then glued yarn over the lines in their design and later made prints by inking the yarn and transferring it to paper.
